Did I Make A Mistake?

I’ve been thinking about the Stress Reduction Challenge based on some emails and responses I’ve had.  And I think maybe I made a mistake.  Actually a couple of mistakes.

They were basically because I looked through my eyes without really seeing how it would be seen through other people’s eyes.
First of all, I think making it about one issue, alienated a lot of people.  Many people thought they had to have some big issue and there wasn’t anything in particular that was bothering them.

Maybe they thought they weren’t stressed at the moment and so couldn’t gain from the experience. The truth is that there is always a higher level of growth and happiness that you can reach.

Maybe if they realised they could use the challenge to clarify a purpose for their life or to improve their relationship, they would see the benefit for themself.

Secondly, I think that while I spend much of my time tied to my computer and so am happy using new and different services, many other people have a life and don’t have the time and inclination to use anything they are not yet used to.  While I can see the potential if we all used Twitter and Skype, others can’t.

Maybe we should make it available for anyone who wants to get involved in whatever way they want to get involved? And open it up to be about anything from the range of feeling stressed to wanting a deeper level of meaning and happiness in their life?

So I’m opening the floor to you, to set whatever tone will work for you.  I’m available to use the time I have available in whatever way you want me to.

Would you prefer to email or call me?

Would you be interested in group conference call discussions about certain topics?  If so which ones?

Do you have questions that you’d like me to answer?

If I started a community website for interaction would you be interested in using it?

What would be most useful for you?
Let me know your thoughts?

  1. Yes, everyone is not convenient with the use of new technologies. I would prefer to contact by email. A community website for interaction is a very good and useful idea.

  2. Hi Rob

I’m glad you raised this opportunity. I was all set to take advantage of others’ thoughts and ideas on how to help myself, until I read about the forums for discussing. I did not pursue due to concerns with exposing myself to the whole world. Maybe I need to better understand how to maintain some anonymity. I really value your endeavor and don’t mind sharing with a select group, but it appears to me that twitter, etc. are public and have the potential for too much exposure.
