The New King James Version says that "The love of money is A root of all kinds of evil." This is a better translation, expressly for the purpose in which you used it. Personally, I am impressed by your assessment of money and people's relationship to it, however, if you are going to improve your writing, when quoting anything from anywhere, you ought to keep it in the context of the entire book.
